Heya NCOs

Deborah suggested that we should have an open channel of feedback within our level using Yahoo Groups. I thought that was a good idea, so I made this. Update by posting messages about Talentime, Footdrill Comp, Orientation, etc. Through this, we can constantly be informed of things going on within the different committees, and NCOs in charge of competitions would be able to get feedback from the rest of the level.

those in civil defence, listen up!
here's the lyrics for the cpr song. so there's absolutely no reason for you to say you cannot memorize because you don't have it or whatever. stacy must have sent you the sms about reading this. you must memorize the lyrics and actions by tmr. we must have a proper decent practice during recess tmr. so please please please try to memorize everything by tmr.

tmr before school, everyone involved must meet in the amphi at around 7am. we must finish standardizing the actions okay? there's also practice tmr at 1125 am at gallery 2 (rush straight there, food provided) and at 1.50 (or is it 1.40?) at the shaw hall! be punctual!

when you see a casualty

there's been a change in the civil defence thing.
so pay attention *coughMITScough* while i try my best to explain it here.

the 'boring' teachers: mits and becky
the students: rest of us

[curtains open]
students walk into bio class. nerdy student asks teacher to explain cpr procedure again (don't ask me why they're learning cpr in bio) and everyone else groans. mits and becky start on the whole boring cpr procedure speech. halfway through or something, shaf and dou (the cool ones) will disrupt the class and push the teachers away. stacy and pear move to one side to do 'actual' cpr. the rest start the song and dance. at the last two or three lines, pear comes alive and joins us to shout the 'YEAH!' at the end or whatever.
[curtains close]

that's not a very detailed explanation, but yeah.
so homework: think of what type of students you are (shaf and dou are the cool ones)
&what you will be doing during mits and becky's 'boring' speech (sleeping, playing, etc.)
tell me by tmr morning okay! (:

anyway, please try to co-operate tmr okay?

This is 'bout the civil defence performance in Feb.
For now, we're thinking of doing a skit.. So here's what we've come up with:
There's like a chem lab explosion and the students panic and don't know what to do, and some get hurt while trying to escape. Then we'll teach them what they're suppose to do and what they're not suppose to and at the end we'll reiterate the point we're trying to educate them about, which is : Readiness is our only protection and we cannot just depend on others to help, we must help ourselves too.
Yep (: So if you have any suggestions to improve it, pleaase tell us! We need comments!!

orientation ic here, again. (: i don't know why i'm putting up this notice here seeing as less than half of level visit this blog and even lesser than that will read this.

there has been certain, urm, changes for orientation. firstly, orientation is not on the first day of school but in fact, on the second day from 2-430 but be prepared to stay till about 5 all right? hurry change into your uniform and don't take your own time 'cause there won't be much time. the new shifts and stuff will be posted on the red cross board on the first day of school. so i'm begging you people to check your shifts and all okay? anyway, do not bring your uniform, coke bottle and bandages on the first day! remember that!

and peerleaders, according to anabel maam, you all should try to stay even though it's not compulsory (I don't know why) but you can leave if you want. Rachel has no choice but to stay 'cause you're the candy man.

oh, can all of you, no wait, all of you must stay back in the amphi after assembly on the first day of school. don't ask me why, sylvia maam's orders. hahaha.

DRAMA IS OUT OF TALENTIME!!!!!

Meaning no more Drama meetings and no more performing Drama in front of audiences and judges (This year).

Yes, cry, faint, hyperventilate... It's all worth it. For a special part of Talentime has left us (This year), for good and for worse. No acting, no projecting your voices, no standing at a 45 degree angle to look at your audiences. And so, we shall stand at a moment of silence to remember the times Drama had actually done good in our lives.

Hiya! I've not posted here for a long time... hehe, dou's post is really the best piece of blog post i've ever read okay, maybe she can win a prize with it! hehe. yups, sec two was my best year in red cross, but since we're just starting on sec three, can't say much, but just to inform you guys, if i ever become overall camp i/c, hm... expect alot of things to happen. yups. haha, felt like crapping alot just now, but it just can't come out now. ): Anyway, we will always be there for each other right? no matter what happens? haha, dou's phrase of beautiful when dispersed, brighter when combined reminded me of the shi xiong di thingy with the ten chopsticks and then they couldn't break it. guess it's the same to us... nothing can obstruct us, if we remain as united as we did in sec one and sec two, and carrying this with us into sec three. The day i enter the red cross room and leave the red cross room forever as an nco, are the days i'm going to cry like hell.

Wassup! Hehe. :) I guess you should be able to guess who this is. Well, anyway, the second part of our SCRCY lives has ended. A new chapter is beginning and all that has happened would turn from reality to fine memories we shall keep for eternity (Even after death! ;)) I guess we still remain as STs? (Not Sarah Tan) Since threes starts with 't' too... :) Well, next year would be a REALLY REALLY crucial year, in both studies and RC. May we wish one another the best and journey into the next dark tunnel... together. Keep our unity okay? Remember we are unique in many ways. We each contribute something that makes our level special. I guess the best thing that has ever happened to you in Red Cross was the wonderful friends that you've made throughout the past 1 and a half years. Let's turn the 1 to 4 or maybe more.

hey people! saraht here. haha i think tht previous anon who posted's idea is good! yaye=D shall comment a little on tht kaye. hm firstly i think fridays firedrill was not bad. even though we all died and our reporting procedures were wrong, most of our treatment was okay. which is good cos it proves that we deserved t pass sfa. i think the thing we need to improve on is our evacuation, cpr and uh, sense of agarationing the time. ahaha. and of course we must all learn up the reporting procedures. (: i'm not sure about firedrill but i'll put the water parade and calling ambulance one here/

ohoh nd i got an IDEA! =D =D =D haha for the campfire.
like first about half of us dance to whatever song, then suddenly the music stops and the dancers freeze! then dou runs onstage nd does the macs fantastic burger ad that shes so mad over. then the other half runs on and pushes her offstage, and we all start singing a nice campfire-y song that the audience can sing/clap along to. hahaha.

You see, in order to improve, we need to know our mistakes, so do you think that every time after any Red Cross meeting, or when we are free that is, we can provide feedback on our performance during the meeting, anything from First Aid to footdrill to RCK to firedrill! Aiya, just anything okie? So, what do you think? Or maybe we can reflect on the previous meeting on what we have learnt so that we can share our feelings and BE MORE BONDED!!!!

Sorry about not being able to practise next week. Mon, Wed and Fri. we have red cross. the only day next week is Tue. and not many pple are free on that day so next to next Monday is the only dae.. so everyone try to stay back to practise okay..

So that we can have a so-called " full-dress performance" and see if it's within the time limit, 10 minutes. So, remember to bring your CDs and anything you need for your item on Tuesday. ok, we will inform you of things like meeting durnig recess at the amphi etc etc. anyway, just to let you know, from next week, monday all the way to thursday, you must stay back at least once to help out with the POC banner painting. and this is also to ALL SEC ONES. and from next week all the way to POC meeting, we will meet during recess at TEN THIRTY to practise for POC, and the songs etc. guess when POC is? it's like... next monday i guess... the eighth of august? nevermind, just be sure to be there at TEN THIRTY, if not, if we get scolding from the NCOs for not practising, and Cara for not learning the unit song, YOU ARE GOING TO BE DEAD, because i will kill all of you. so you all bettter come! or i can 't be bothered with POC already. anyway, this monday, 1pe redcrossers having upper sec recess. so you shall just have to go and take the radio from under rachel's desk, practise your various items and at the end, LEARN UP the unit's item!! because, if by tuesday, you still have not memorised the lyrics, during recess on thursday and friday, we will have to practise. cos i was thinking that if all the items and songs are memorised already, then we could use the recess for those two days to practise footdrill. yup. btw, what is left collarbone fracture??
